Lyndelle

I am a mum of 5 beautiful babies all born physiologically at home in water, except my first was a beautiful hospital birth with a MGP Midwife (Kath was integral at reminding me of my innate capacity & holds a special place in my heart).

They were all over 9lb 8oz up to 10lb 11oz, (aprox 4.4-4.8kg) were precipitous (fast), one was an accidental freebirth, one was a navigation of breech positioning and 3 were as Advanced Maternal Age over 38, my last one at 44 years as a low risk homebirth in water with my family, Midwives and Doulas present (when they made it in time of course).

My favourite part is not having to navigate getting in the car and having my midwives come to me, normalising physiological birth for my children and climbing back into my bed with my babies with my own doona, my own cup of tea, food and family to honour my recovery as best you can with 5 children. (Having the same Private Midwife - Lynne that honoured me with continuity care beyond belief)

I have also experienced the loss of 5 babies in my 2nd trimesters in my 30's and it is because of these experiences that I was called to be a Doula, this is an experience in many women's lives that no-one completely understands unless they have been through it, just how isolating and disregarded this grief and this process of birthing babies is, as it is just too hard for many to deeply hold & honour.

I became a doula to honour ALL families and ALL babies

I feel I was on a 10 year apprenticeship supporting family and friends to have their babies before I studied with the infamous Rhea Dempsey over 13 years ago now with a babe in arms and have been working since in the maternity sectors with big bellies or babies along the way.  I no longer have babes in arms but feel very blessed to have been given the opportunity for my babies to be present at homebirths and VBAC's & physiological twins births along the way.  I am a Beer & Bubs Facilitator as I am driven to ensure dads have the opportunity to do more and connect with birth as they currently have no road maps from their fathers to support them to support their partners.  I am Co-Facilitator of Birth Magic Birth Preparation Workshops with Misty to help all families learn tips and tricks to take into their journeys especially if they don't have a doula.  I teach students how to become awesome doulas and support them to find their passion in the birth world.  I have been inspired and trained with Fiona Hallinan & Jenny Blyth in Making Space for Babies, Closing of the Bones & Spinning Babies workshops.  My Bodywork includes massage, reiki, aromatherapy, closing of the bones and other ceremonies.

I am incredibly passionate about connection of community in my children's school and strive to live and grow in the seasons of the year and the seasons of my life.

Misty

I was deeply passionate about physiological birth and threw everything I could into educating myself and my partner, building my toolkit through yoga, breath, movement and caring for my mind, understanding hospital systems and how to advocate for myself and building an understanding of birth - both the birth of my son as well as me as a mother.  Because of this, and my stars aligning , I had a birth I describe as magical.  Yes it was hard, painful and the most incredible experience but I was prepared.  Alongside of having my doula Misty and my partner to get me though the crisis points, I can sit and reflect that if I hadn't had the education and understanding of the process of labour that I may not have had the same birth that I did.  It was with all of this, that having the safe space they provided to be held, explore and learn, that I am so incredibly thankful for and can honestly say it was the best money spent for their collective wisdom and knowledge.

Steph

Misty, your kind and nurturing presence throughout the evening but particularly upon thee arrival at hospital felt homely, SAFE and reassuring.  The way you mothered me after birth by helping me to shower, sharing anecdotes from the evening and putting my socks on made me feel at ease and a sense of warmth.  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything you have done for us but also everything you do for women and families as they embark on this wild journey.

Hannah

Erin

I don't think you understand how much the right doula will help until you're living it.  As a single mama, working with Erin made me feel calm, supported and she helped me build my village.

Michelle

Erin's supportive, calming and has a wealth of knowledge that can make all the difference at having a positive birth experience.  During my birth she made me feel safe, supported and was always there when I needed her for anything pre & postpartum.
